Samantha Jane Stosur (born 30 March 1984 in Brisbane, Queensland) is a professional tennis player from Australia. On 3 May 2010 she was ranked No. 7 in singles. She made her first Grand Slam singles final at the 2010 french open against Francesca Schiavone after defeating number one ranked serena Williams in the quarter finals and Jelena Jankovic in the semifinals. She is currently ranked No. 5 in doubles and is a former world No. 1 on the wta Tour in doubles with Lisa Raymond from the United States. In singles Stosur has notable wins against former No. 1s Ana Ivanović, Dinara Safina, Lindsay Davenport, Amélie Mauresmo and Justine Henin.
